GO home? You want quiet? Go to the library.

3) BOYS will be BOYS and GIRLS will be GIRLS and they will cross gender lines and be CHILDREN.

If you do not allow your children to play naturally with others they become scared, prejudiced, shallow minded adults with no sense of reality.

My daughter played dolls, dabbled in my make up and loved to play dress up. She also could make mud pies, shoot hoops, pick up insects and use a hammer.

Her favorite "quiet time with Daddy" was spent in the garage building slot cars to race at the slot car track. My girl knows how to use power tools. And she can bake cookies and make a turkey dinner from scratch.Robin L Greensladehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10388209308675624161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333740347958709251.post-72412765744786680392008-09-14T08:15:00.000-07:002008-09-14T08:15:00.000-07:00WooooHooo... I totally don't know if I would have been as calm as you. I've never been too good at biting my tongue until I calm down. It's one of those things that I've fought with myself about for 50+ years. You did good mom!

HelenReddirt Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08485995791439570214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333740347958709251.post-30906707042155202902008-09-13T16:07:00.000-07:002008-09-13T16:07:00.000-07:00WOW! I can not stand it when people jump in like that and act like they saw everything and know the full scoop...and one child...yep..she's a hot one to talk! I would stay as far away from her and her kid any other time you run into them...hopefully you will not though! I am proud of you though...Your kids will remember you standing up for them!!Nataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15337173492197251898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333740347958709251.post-18130437513249031652008-09-13T11:44:00.000-07:002008-09-13T11:44:00.000-07:00I KNOW I'd love to spend time with you! I LOVE a ...I KNOW I'd love to spend time with you! I LOVE a Mama Bear! It's what I do best - even now. I just about flew to Utah last weekend because I was THAT concerned about one of my kids. I wish I could tell you it gets easier as they get older, but it only gets less frequent. The defense mechanism remains intact.

I just learned the difference some time for me can make this week. Thanks for the suggestion. I was rather burned out and after an exceptionally tiring day with my mom, the next morning I just did NOT want to go downstairs. So I didn't. We have a mini-kitchen up here and I just snacked on what we had and played one of my old computer games (YEA!) until time to go to work. It was WONDERFUL. I went to work without a headache.

I decided that once a week I need to have a day off from THIS job too. A friend of mine is talking about starting a book club, which I would love. I also think I need to start exercising. My "big" heart doesn't NOT need to be matched by my belly and tush! I'm thinking about going to Curves...

Thanks for the note. We'll hang in there together - apart? You know what I mean!! Hey - are you near Maryland? My son is working there for a few weeks. Whole other world from Utah...I asked how he was doing and his comment was "Well, I haven't been shot yet." Thanks. My mother's worry genes needed that. Maybe I need to fly to Maryland....HACoastalgranniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15448827759023754999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333740347958709251.post-45605278501513076512008-09-13T09:25:00.000-07:002008-09-13T09:25:00.000-07:00I knew someone who believed boys should only shoul...I knew someone who believed boys should only should play with boys and girls with girls after the age of 10... always wondered how they had fun. I remember her calling her son back to the house when he was playing hide and seek with us and his sisters and she told him he's not to play with girls.Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01469088299336763196noreply@blogger.com
